What is qEEG / Brain Mapping?

Electroencephalography (EEG) is the study of electrical patterns on the scalp’s surface that represent cortical activity and are referred to as “brainwaves. While, “Quantitative EEG (qEEG) is the analysis of digitized EEG, which is also known as “Brain Mapping”. The qEEG is an extension of visual EEG interpretation, that can help and even improve our understanding of EEG and brain function.

 

What is qEEG/Brain Mapping application?

The qEEG information and the derived brain maps can be used as a clinical and diagnostic tool by experts to assess brain function and track changes in brain function as a result of various interventions such as neurofeedback or medication.

There is a growing body of evidence that the use of a qEEG and the resulting customized NeuroFeedback intervention has a positive treatment impact.

qEEG Measurement with the eWave24

The eWave24 is a fantastic tool for EEG recording, brain mapping (qEEG), neurofeedback, and biofeedback. It is a multi-modal system, which is capable of measuring 24 physiological signals simultaneously. This system includes 21 channels necessary for qEEG recording as well as 3 extra active channels for recording peripheral physiological signals, such as EMG, ECG, and EOG.
