Instructors:
Prof Michael A. Nitsche:
Michael A. Nitsche is Director of the Dept. Psychology and Neurosciences at the Leibniz Research Centre for Working Environment and Human Factors in Dortmund, and holds a position as scientific staff member at the Dept. Neurology of the University Medical Center Bergmannsheil, Bochum, Germany. He studied Psychology and Medicine at the Georg-August-University in Goettingen, and performed his Dissertation in Medicine at the Max-Planck-Institute for Biophysical Chemistry in Goettingen. From 1999-2015, he was registrar and consultant at the Dept. Clinical Neurophysiology of the University Medical Center in Goettingen. He is a leading expert in plasticity research in humans, including non-invasive brain stimulation, neuropsychopharmacology, and cognition, and developed tDCS. He received grants from various funding organizations, including the German Research Foundation, and the European Union. He published more than 200 papers in international peer-reviewed journals. He received the Alois Kornmüller, and Richard Jung Awards by the German Society of Clinical Neurophysiology, and the GESET Award by the German Society of Electrostimulation and Electrotherapy for his work on non-invasive brain stimulation in humans.

Dr. Md Ali Salehinejad:
He is a cognitive neuroscientist at the Department of Psychology and Neurosciences at ifADo, Germany, working with Prof. Michael Nitsche. His background is in Clinical Psychology and Cognitive Psychology (University of Kansas, 2015). He completed his Ph.D. in Cognitive Neuroscience under the supervision of Prof. Michael Nitsche in 2020 in ifADo which is a world-leading and reference lab in the field of non-invasive brain stimulation. For his doctorate thesis, he investigated the impact of circadian factors on human brain physiology and cognition using brain stimulation (tDCS, TMS), neuroimaging (EEG), and cognitive measures. He has published more than 45 peer-reviewed articles and 4 book chapters related to these topics. His works related to brain stimulation are published in journals including Nature Communications, Brain Stimulation, The Journal of Physiology, Neuroscience Bulletin, Neuroscience, Cerebral Cortex, Journal of Affective Disorders, Autism Research, and Clinical Neurophysiology. He also serves in the editorials of BMC Neuroscience, PLoS one, and Brain Sciences journals.

In this hybris workshop, the latest news about transcranial electrical stimulation (tES) will be briefly covered by prof. Nitsche. Research with tES has grown exponentially in recent years, especially in the fields of systems, cognitive and clinical neurosciences, psychology, and rehabilitation sciences. However, there is variability in behavioral, physiological, and therapeutic responses to tES. We mention some important methodological aspects and clinical applications that should be complied with in the usage of tES.
Besides we have a complete discussion about the theory & practice of qEEG (Quantitative Electroencephalogram) by Dr. Salehinejad and ScienceBeam experts.
The scientific program will be in English to allow all participants to follow the sessions, acquire new knowledge and participate in the discussions.
The certificate of the participant is an official document that confirms that you completed the course. Whether you’re looking to start a new career or change your current one, Professional Certificates from ScienceBeam prove to employers that you have completed the professional course and learned all the details about it.
This hybrid workshop is 3 days long. The online section provides the latest news in the field of tES as well as theoretical foundations and introductions to this field. In the hands-on part organized in our Istanbul office, we will teach you how to use qEEG and tES equipment. In the hands-on workshop, you will learn everything you need to run a qEEG or tES session.
You can register as an individual or as in a group, for lower registration rates.
Note: For people who would purchase the equipment after the workshop, the workshop will be FREE.
